What's In My Bag?

Hello, folks!  Today I thought it would be fun to take a peek inside my bag.  I've, surprisingly enough, never done a 'what's in my bag' post here on the blog.
My bag usually has quite a bit more mess than this, but luckily I cleaned it out a few days ago! :]  Anywho, here's what's inside...
 A peek in my purse...
1.  My daily planner.
2.  A small pouch I made a few years ago.  It holds extra pens and chapsticks.
3.  My wallet.
4.  Glasses!
5.  Glasses case.  I seriously don't know what I would do without it.  My glasses would be SO broken.
6.  Rosebud strawberry lip balm.  I LOVE this stuff.
7.  ELF lip balm and a pen.
8.  My old iPod!  I can't bear to part with it.
9.  Coin purse
10.  Lotion, for when I have to use public restrooms.  Ugh!
My purse is from Charlotte Russe.  It's so nice and roomy.  It used to be my mom's, but I traded her for it!

So there you have it!  That's what's currently floating around in my purse.
Have you ever done a 'what's in my bag' post?
xoxo, A.

Stressful Moving

My Suitcase Full Of Yarn...
The past few days have been a sleep-deprived blur.  We've been working every second that we have to finish up our apartment (our lease expires on Wednesday) and organize our living space, storage, and personal belongings.  It is much more difficult to compress all of our belongings into one room than we thought it would be.  What do we keep?  What goes to storage?  This one room has to serve as our bedroom, my craft studio, and a mini living room.  I unfortunately had let go of the idea that I could have my favorite green chair in our new room. It's too big, and had to be placed in storage  :(  I do, however, get to use my little floral chair, so I'm happy.  It's been overwhelming, to say the least.  I can't wait to settle in.

Little One
Please excuse that I missed my 7 Things Sunday post!  Next Sunday, once this has all calmed down, I will be sharing two 7 Things Sunday posts combined, to make up for missing this week.  Also, on Thursday, I have a little surprise post for you!  It will be the first of what I hope to turn into a regular feature here on OATN.  I can't wait to share with you! <3

I'll be back in a bit with Retro Tuesday!
It's a pretty morning, lovlies.  Enjoy your day!

Killjoys, make some noise.

First off, I'd like to say thanks to those of you who left comments and sent me emails over my last post.  I appreciate each and every one of them! I hope my blog can keep evolving and include all of the things that were suggested.   (If you missed this post you can find it here.  Please, feel free to comment with your thoughts!)  You guys are the sweetest!

Secondly, it's been such a long time since I've welcomed my new followers.  (I'm the poorest blog-hostess, I really am!) So, WELCOME!  I'm super-excited to have you following along, and I hope you can always find something interesting here.  And don't be shy, say hello!
Dainty.
Also, some of you lovelies have been asking where my new job is.  Now that everything is secure and in place, I can tell you that I'm working at Michaels!  I'm doing a job different than what I initially thought I would be doing...which is kind of a bummer...but it's still fun, nevertheless.  I'm surrounded by crafty people all day!
But that's all for tonight.  I got home from work a couple of hours ago, and I'm tired!  My poor back hasn't gotten used to standing all day again.
G'night!
XO, Allie.

Art Is The Weapon

Sorry for the lack of posts!  It's been kind of a busy weekend.  I spent Friday and Saturday sewing Halloween pillows and making little journals.  I'll have pictures of those soon!
And on Sunday, Sean's mom had surgery, so we spent the day at the hospital.  She's doing great in recovery, and once she's home there will be lots and lots of girly movies and junk food eating, I'm guessing.  :)

But today I opened the mailbox to see 2 pretty packages waiting for me.  The first was for the giveaway I won on Susannah's blog.  Here's what I got:

And of course I can't forget...
This necklace was also included, but I had to put it on the second I opened it!
I received so many c-u-t-e things in this package, and my Babo is very happy to have his birdie back.  :)
Thanks, Susannah!

And in my second package, I found:
I initially wasn't sure why I received this package , or who it was even from!  (I didn't see the doily at first!)  But once I read the note left on the doily, I found out it's from a Secret Pal.  I was so surprised, because as far as I had noticed, that project had kind of gone downhill.  But thank you Holly, so very much!  It's such a lovely package!  :)

And some quick news...
-I got a new job this weekend!  (More details on that later, although it's really no big deal.)
-My Chemical Romance has released their first single off their new album.  It's been playing non-stop in my apartment. :)  You can listen to it here! ( I can go on and on, haha.)
-I'll be debuting a new blog design today or possibly Wednesday!  I decided that I need to simplify EVERYTHING for autumn, including my blog.  :)
-Remember the giveaway I had mentioned a few times?  Well, I know that I still have yet to post it, but I promise it's for a good reason.  I hope to have it up by the end of this week!

That's all for tonight.  I'm off to make brownies, and possibly more journals.
Have a wonderful night!
XO, Allie.

Classic Film Star: Debbie Reynolds

Wow!  I've been absent quite a bit this week.  But today was my mother's birthday!  We spent the day celebrating and eating lemon cake, and I got to spend a ton of time with my mom.  :)
Anyways,  I watched a biography over Debbie Reynolds today, and she is just beautiful!  I had seen a few of her movies before...Singin' In The Rain,  Tammy And The Bachelor, Halloweentown!...but until now I never realized just how lovely she is.

Seriously, watch a Debbie Reynolds movie sometime!

Anywho, I'm off for the night.  I'm going to be in a parade tomorrow, hah!
Have a lovely night!
xoxo, Allie.

7 Things Sunday!

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I hope you've all enjoyed your weekend...and the start of football season, for those of you that watch.  (I personally am waiting for the start of basketball season!)
Anyway, here are my 7 Things I love for this week:

1.  Small Craft, the newest online class by Elsie of A Beautiful Mess and Rachel of Smile And Wave.  They'll be teaching you how to make tons of adorable crafts for little ones.  With all of the babies that have recently come into the world (or are about to!), this class is perfect!

2.  This fox hat from U.O. is one of my must-haves for fall/winter!  It's so cute, and looks super cozy!

3.  And another thing from U.O. that I must have for fall...this adorable house sweater!  I love it!

4.  These rainbow cupcakes by Kaylah are the most delightful little cupcakes!  I can't wait to try to make some of my own.

5.  All of the sweet little babies that have recently been born!  This little lady's momma is James of Bleubird Vintage.  Isn't she precious?  Also, my dear friend Michael's daughter was born last Wednesday.  They named her Eloise and she's simply adorable!
I can't wait to be a momma.

6.  Pumpkin pie...yum!

7.  One of my most favorite movies of. all. time.

There you go...7 things I l.o.v.e.!
Have a lovely night!!!

Here's a little list of things that make autumn my f.a.v.o.r.i.t.e...

1.  Yummy apples!

2.  Pumpkins!  One of my favorite things to do is visit the pumpkin patch in search of that perfect pumpkin.

3.  Halloween, of course!

4.  The perfect combination of oranges, yellows, and reds.

5.  Stunning coats and stylish boots.

6.  Cute knee socks!

7.  Roasting marshmallows.  Yum!

8.  Sweet little black kitties.

And this fall...
9.  Season 5 of Dexter!  :)  I just can't get enough of this show!

Today was even more rainy than yesterday, and it was wonderful.  I just love it when it's rainy and gray out...it makes me miss the time I spent in Seattle so much.
I've noticed how redundant my little blog has become lately...  I've always wanted my blog to be positive and cheerful; my own happy little corner of the world that I can fill with inspiration.  I'm also not one to discuss the most personal aspects of my life, nor one to bring in negativity.
But to be honest, things have been rough over the past few weeks.  I would rather not go into detail, but as a result, my blog has suffered a bit.  It's been incredibly difficult for me to muster up even the tiniest bit of motivation on some days. But I feel as though I owe it to all of my friends here to turn it back around!  I can say that this are starting to look up.  Once we're past this, everything will be golden again.

I made this little pillow for Dr. Frankenstein's kitty bed, (yes I made a pillow for my cat. C:) buuut he doesn't like to lay in it.  I thought the fabric was too cute, though.
Today was a long and stressful day, and I'm glad it's over.  But tomorrow Sean and I are off to my parents' house for the weekend.  :)
Also, I have a new header!  I know.  I know.  I change my blog up like I change clothes. (Not literally, ha.)  But, a dear friend of mine made this header and a new button for me, and I think they're too cute not to use.
(Plus I get bored so easily with the look of things. Ugh. I'm awful!)

Anywho, I'm off.
Have a happy Friday!
xoxo, Allie.

Some not so good news...my poor little computer's starting to bite the dust.  :(  But Sean is making an attempt to save its life.  So for now I'm on his laptop, and I'll have to save my daily photo posts for later.

But I do have some pictures of cute, fuzzy little animals to make everything better.  :)

Too much cuteness. <3  (all images via WeHeartIt.)

Also, I've finally made myself a Twitter account!  I'll eventually get a link posted in my sidebar, but for now, you can find me here: www.twitter.com/_allisonlynn
If you're on Twitter, feel free to comment with your link!  :)

A Peek Inside Our Home...

In the living room...
The couch and end table are probably two of my most favorite thrifted pieces.  The couch is sooo comfy, and on the end table, you can see the little plastic canvas T.V. I made.  It holds T.V. remote coasters. C:

In the kitchen...
All of these cute dishes were found in an old camper that belonged to my mom's uncle.  She said they're from the 60's. <3

Our bedroom.
I only photographed my side of the bed, since Sean's is a mess.  C:

The pendant laying on top of my jewelry box is of the Space Needle.  Sean bought it for me at an antique store, and I just fell in love with it!  I miss Seattle so very much.

(click pictures for a better view!)
The end.
C:

Happy Monday, everyone!
xoxo, Allie.
