August Photo Challenge // Days 26-30

Finally, here's the end to the 30-Day photo challenge.  I had to finish the challenge out on my phone, because my computer died once more, and I couldn't use any of my camera photos.  Hooray for technology.
Anywho...
Day 26: Something Old
This is a pillowcase that was cross-stitched by my great-grandmother.  There are actually two of them, and I think they're too pretty to sleep on.

Day 27: After Dark
Since I had to retake my photos for the challenge on my phone, I figured that a night shot probably wouldn't turn out very well.  So, I went with this shot of what goes on in my house after dark - emails and blog reading. :]

Day 28: Daily Routine
Making something pretty is part of my new daily routine. :]
Day 29: Purchased
I haven't purchased much lately, but I can always work in a bottle of yummy Dr. Pepper!

Day 30: In Motion
An action shot of my kitty bathing his little paws. :]  He's such a cutie.

I'm quite sad that I didn't finish the challenge properly...it was so much fun!  But at least I finished it!
Have a lovely night, dearies!

August Photo Challenge // Day 25

Today's Photo:  Sunflare
This was yet another photo that proved a little tricky for me to get.  You see, it was about an hour before sundown, and I realized that I had (once again!) forgotten to take today's photo.  Remembering that today's theme was "sunflare", there was much scrambling outside to snap the perfect photo before the sun went down.  I hope I can get my mind back on track soon, and quit forgetting about these lovely little photos.

I hope you're all having a lovely night.

August Photo Challenge // Days 21-24

I'm finally here to catch up on my August Photo Challenge pictures.  I feel awful that I've been slacking on this project, especially so close to the end.  Things have also been rather quiet around here lately, due to a bit of bad news we received.  I hope to return everything to normal programming as soon as possible, though!

I would also like to say thank you for your sweet comments here and on Twitter regarding my last post!  It's  refreshing to know that so many bloggers are against the hatefulness that has made its way into blogging.

Anywho, on with the photos.
  Day 21: Pretty Pattern
This is actually some fabric that I'm currently using for some of my Etsy shoppe items.  I just love the pattern and colors. <3
Day 22: Trees
Just a quick snapshot I took at the campus of a local college.  I'm pretty sure a group of girls walking behind me wondered what on Earth I was doing.  I'm not quite used to taking photos in public, hah.
Day 23: Sunset
This is supposed to be the sunset over our neighborhood.  Because of all of the houses and trees, I couldn't get a decent photo of the sunset without leaving the neighborhood, so I opted for this photo of outside our bedroom window.  It's a pretty disappointing sunset photo, I know!
Day 24: A Smile
In case you've never noticed, I never fully smile in photos.  I'm ten kinds of self-conscious about my smile, and actually dreaded this photo until Sean let me take his photo instead!  He's so sweet. :]
Well, that's all for today, folks.  Hopefully I'll be back with something more entertaining tomorrow.
Have a peachy night!

Today's Photo: What I've Read
Up in just the nick of time! :]  I'm quite ashamed to say that I haven't been reading any books lately.  Instead, I've been reading and rereading this crochet magazine I picked up at Target.  There are so many cute patterns for Autumn inside.  I can't wait to try to make the hat and cowl on the cover!

Do you have any projects for Autumn you're excited for?

Today's Photo: Where I Slept
Sean and I just put up this new-to-us bed last week.  It actually belonged to Sean's mom when she was a kid.  I think it's just lovely.  I adore yellow and brown together, so our bedding against the wood makes my heart go pitter-patter. :]
This is just another little peek into our room.  I hope to do a full room tour soon.  It's still a bit of a mess from moving in, and we've had to rearrange things quite a few times already.  Soon, though!

Today's Photo: In My Bag
When I read what today's prompt was, I laughed, because I just did a 'What's In My Bag?' post!  So, I though I would show you a close-up of something in my bag - my Rosebud strawberry lip balm.  I got it at Sephora a few months ago for $7, and it's seriously the best lip balm I've ever used.  Plus, it tastes so good! :)

August Photo Challenge // Day 17
Today's Photo: On The Shelf
This little shelf is perhaps one of my most favorite parts of our room.  The shelf, duck, and gnome came from various thrift stores, and the sewing machine clock was a Christmas gift from my parents.
I remember when I found the gnome, I was so excited.  I love gnomes, but rarely ever find them in the thrift store.  I snatched him up and once I pulled him out of the bag at home, I noticed that his little arm had been broken clean off.  I was so sad!  Luckily, Sean's a wizard with glue.  He glued his arm back on, and you can't even tell it was once broken!

Yesterday's Photo: What I Ate
Gosh, I'm getting so bad about remembering to post these!  This is actually what I ate this morning.  My sewing machine went on the fritz yesterday and eating went out the window.  (Can't you tell I've got my priorities straight?)  Anywho, this was a bowl of yummy Crunchy Nut cereal.  Paired with a cup of apple juice, it was the perfect start to my day.

What's your favorite cereal?

Today's Photo: My Shoes
I've been wearing my bunny slippers all day today.  I actually haven't even gotten out of my pajamas.  How's that for a Monday? :)
These bunny slippers are some of the comfiest things to have ever graced my little feet.  And in typical Allie fashion, I've of course named them - Bunnie and Clyde. :)

I'm milling over the idea of having a giveaway of items in my upcoming Etsy shoppe once I reach 300 followers.  Is that something you all would be interested in?
I hope you're having a wonderful Monday!

Today's Photo: Flowers
I took a photo of some fake flowers I got at Ikea for today's photo.  We don't currently have any flowers planted at my house, and that makes me quite sad.  The summer is almost over!  I hadn't fully realized this until today.
I do have a few wildflower plants that I can grow indoors, but nothing compares to a home with a garden full of flowers!  Wouldn't you agree?

Stay tuned for 7 Things Sunday!

Today's Photo: From A Distance
I've noticed this lone chair from my second story window quite a bit.  It belongs to a pretty vintage patio set, which could use some love.  Perhaps some new cushions, and a fresh coat of pale yellow paint.
If only it weren't so hot.  This lone little chair and her patio set would be the prettiest ones around.

Yesterday's Photo: Close Up
Oh, I just love these little wooden shoes.  I found them in the cutest hole-in-the-wall antique store a few months ago.  They're quite tiny - only about 2 and a half inches long, and fit on my fingers quite nicely.  :)

Today's Photo:  Something Fun
Sigh.  Over the past few months, I've fallen more and more in love with yarn.  Crochet is quickly becoming my favorite craft, and I've been dreaming of what it would be like to own my own yarn shoppe someday.  Oh, what I wouldn't give to spend my days surrounded by colorful yarn. <3

Today's Photo: Something I've Made
I thought today's photo topic was the perfect opportunity to share the scarf I recently finished for my brother!  This was only the second scarf I've made, the first being my Gryffindor scarf.
I truly hope my brother likes it once I give it to him.  I worked hard on it! :)

Yesterday's Photo: Faceless Self Portrait
This photo was actually supposed to go up yesterday, but I forgot to take it!  So I snapped this photo before I got out of bed this morning. :)
I've made a note not to forget today's photo, so I'll be back later!

Today's Photo: Technology
I had a little trouble figuring out what I should take today's photo of.  I thought I could do my phone, but that's a little too obvious.  Or perhaps the television, except that it and all of it's components look like a giant black hole in our room.  Then, Sean suggested I take a photo of Clark!  While he's not new, he's still technology (of the most amazing kind, in my opinion!)

August Photo Challenge // Day 7

Today's photo: Something New
I found this notebook in Wal-Mart a few weeks ago.  I thought it was so cute!  The little flowers  and colors remind me of those tacky 70's floral prints that I love so much.  Plus, some of them have little smiling faces.  What's not to love?

August Photo Challenge // Day 6

August Photo Challenge // Day 6
Today's Photo: Childhood Memory
This photo was taken when I was about 3 years old, and I remember this occasion rather well.  I'm lucky enough to recall many memories from my early childhood.  This photo in particular was taken around Easter in 1993.  My mom thought it would be fancy for my baby brother and I to have our photos taken with the Easter bunny in Albertson's grocery store.  I'm quite sure I remember being terrified of the bunny.  This bunny is rather frightening, after all.  My fear for him grew just seconds after my brother and I sat down on his lap.  The man in the bunny costume was having trouble holding his head up, because the bunny head weighed too much.  After my brother and I sat down, the bunny's head started to tip backwards, and over we all went!  As a small 3 year old, I was terrified!  I can only imagine what my younger brother must have thought, at less than a year old.
Once the bunny was situated, we tried again, with success.  If my memory serves me, someone had to crouch down behind the bunny to help hold him up.  It wasn't too funny to me at the time, but looking back, it's quite a hilarious story to tell.

Do you have any funny childhood stories?

Today's Photo:  Someone You Love
I couldn't wait for Sean to come home from school this morning so I could snap a photo of him.  He's just so darn cute.
I can't get enough of this boy.<3

August Photo Challenge // Day 4

August Photo Challenge // Day 4
Today's Photo: Favorite Color
Picking a single favorite color is hard for me to do.  If I had to choose, I would say mustard yellow.  But there are so many other colors that I gravitate to, and luckily, I had skeins of yarn in almost every one!
Here I have burnt orange, avocado green, mustard yellow, teal, and light bubblegum pink.  I also have a soft spot in my heart for mint green, dodger blue, and pale pink...but I didn't have yarn in those colors.
They all have a very cozy, vintage feel.  I think that's why I love them so!  You'll see them all quite frequently in my decor and wardrobe.

What are your favorite colors?
