Busy As A Bee...

A Little Collage...
Sorry I missed Saturday's 'Lovely Ladies' post!  (No surprise there!  I'm SO bad about getting my weekly features up when I'm busy.)  We spent all weekend working on our new little home, and it's still not done.  And, we only have two pieces of our furniture moved in.  Two!  Sometimes I feel like we may never finish, but I know that once it's done, all of the hard work will be worth it.

I say that, because this time around, I'm creating a space that completely inspires me.  Before, I've always had to settle for this or that, and the space around me has never fully been what I've dreamed of.  This time around, I'm carefully choosing my dream furniture, fabrics, pictures and knick-knacks.

Our new room will also have two things that I have longed for:  white walls, and tons of natural light.  Our current apartment has ugly tan walls, with one ugly green wall in the living room.  And before that, I was living with all green walls.  There's a certain crispness to white walls that I am ever-so looking forward to.  I plan on decorating with floral prints and pops of color everywhere!

I can't wait to share pictures once it's finished.  It's only one room, but it's our one room, and I can't wait to fill it with creativity.
XO.

Home Is Where Your Heart Is

Home
I grew up in Oklahoma, pretty much in the middle of nowhere. (the above photo is of my "backyard")  When I was younger, I of course couldn't wait to get out and try life in the "big city".  I never thought I'd miss the slow pace, wide open spaces, and fields of flowers.
Back in June, I traded the wide open spaces for steel and concrete, and moved just north of Dallas.  And while I think it was a wonderful decision,  because I'm able to be with Sean every day, I miss my home more and more.  I miss being able to take my time when going places, I miss being able to leisurely drive at a comfortable pace (the drivers in North Texas are INSANE), and I miss looking out my window and seeing the big, beautiful field that I'm so used to.   I'd give almost anything to move back now, but it will still be a while before I can do that.
No matter how far away from home I go, I know my roots will always be in the beautiful place.
XO, Allie.
