Retro Tuesday!

I love looking for rotary dial phones when I'm out thrifting.  Surprisingly enough, I rarely ever find them, especially in my favorite colors.  (My favorite things seem to be the ones I can never find!)
As with most other vintage things I love, old rotary phones have style and personality.  Everyone has a cell phone these days, and even though you can put different shells on them, I still think they look a bit boring.  I also miss the days when people didn't have a cell phone attached at the hip.
I'm not sure if this little lady works.  If it did, I'd consider putting in a landline just so I could talk on it!  What do you think of old rotary phones?  Do you like them more than today's cell phones?

I love rotary phones! I think someday I want just a plain black one. When I told my dad he was pretty excited, because it's the kind of thing that reminds him of his childhood.
And in looks, yes, I DEFINITELY like rotary phones better. But cell phones, I have to admit, are just so convenient.

That's so fun! I do miss old phones a bit, but now that I have a job where I mostly talk on the phone, it's the last thing I want to do at the end of the day.

Rotary phones are definitely more aesthetically pleasing than cell phones. & land lines certainly let people have a better sense of freedom when they were out of the house! Cell phones are incredibly handy though. Someone needs to make an adapter to plug a cell phone into a rotary phone for when you're home!

Also, hello! I've just found your blog & it's really cute!

Ohhh, beautiful, I love these old phones! My mum has such a phone in black and it still works, and yours is sooo pretty, too! :)

I've been looking for a phone like this - just a cute little pink or mint one to sit on my desk :)

They are so beautiful. I agree, I miss the times when you didn't feel like you have a missing piece when you have forgotten your phone. The simpler days!

I hate cell phones, plain and simple, mostly because they've contributed to kids these days not knowing how to spell and carry on a normal conversation.

I love that picture and I love rotary phones! However, I am a total techie and I adore cell phones - despite not having one right now. :( When Jen and I were long distance, cell phones were our lifeline. I love being able to talk outside, in the car (I don't drive!), etc. ^_^

Plus, with my old cell phone, we were able to pull up a map to find where we were if we got lost on a driving adventure, etc. which was SO nice!

I love rotary phones! My grandparents has one when I was little. But my boyfriend would never let one in the house (he's a technology junkie, like most boys!)
