A Photo A Day

This photo was actually taken a couple of days ago on a little trip Sean and I took to the park.  It's been awfully rainy and wonderful out the past couple of days, so I've been lazy and haven't taken any new pictures!
I'm still struggling to feel inspired each day, and I was wondering...what do you do when you need a little inspiration?

Also, a super-congrats goes out to two people...1. Katie of Skunkboy Creatures, who announced that she's having a little girl today!  and 2. One of my best friends, Michael, is at the hospital right now! with his girlfriend, who is giving birth to their little girl!
Yay!

Well, I'm off.  Have a lovely night!
xoxo, Allie.

Today was even more rainy than yesterday, and it was wonderful.  I just love it when it's rainy and gray out...it makes me miss the time I spent in Seattle so much.
I've noticed how redundant my little blog has become lately...  I've always wanted my blog to be positive and cheerful; my own happy little corner of the world that I can fill with inspiration.  I'm also not one to discuss the most personal aspects of my life, nor one to bring in negativity.
But to be honest, things have been rough over the past few weeks.  I would rather not go into detail, but as a result, my blog has suffered a bit.  It's been incredibly difficult for me to muster up even the tiniest bit of motivation on some days. But I feel as though I owe it to all of my friends here to turn it back around!  I can say that this are starting to look up.  Once we're past this, everything will be golden again.

Happy September!  Today's photo is of the sunflowers I have growing in my window...they're finally blooming!  Today started off not so good, but when I saw my flowers, it turned my whole day around. :)
I feel so accomplished because of my flowers!  It sounds a bit silly.  But, these are the first plants I've grown myself, and they're blooming!

It was rainy here today, which made for an excellent start to this month.  I can't tell you how excited I am that fall is just around the corner!  Everything during this time of the year is so inspiring!

Weeelll, I'm off to dinner with the Mr... :)

I was browsing about Pugly Pixel's blog yesterday...I have NO IDEA how I missed her blog for so long!  It's so delightful, and she has tons of tutorials and free clip art for you to snatch up.  I'm in complete heaven on her blog.
The above picture of the Dr. was made using one piece of her clip art (the scalloped medallion), and two of her tutorials (the patterned kitties and dotted border).  Check her out if you haven't yet...she has lots of pretty things.  :)

I hope you're all having a lovely day!  We're almost finished with my desk, and I can't wait to share pictures.  With just a little love, it's gone from chipped and banged up to fresh and gorgeous!

See you tomorrow,
xoxo, Allie.

I made this little pillow for Dr. Frankenstein's kitty bed, (yes I made a pillow for my cat. C:) buuut he doesn't like to lay in it.  I thought the fabric was too cute, though.
Today was a long and stressful day, and I'm glad it's over.  But tomorrow Sean and I are off to my parents' house for the weekend.  :)
Also, I have a new header!  I know.  I know.  I change my blog up like I change clothes. (Not literally, ha.)  But, a dear friend of mine made this header and a new button for me, and I think they're too cute not to use.
(Plus I get bored so easily with the look of things. Ugh. I'm awful!)

Anywho, I'm off.
Have a happy Friday!
xoxo, Allie.

Here's a tiny, tiny peek into our dining room.  C:  Sean surprised me when he got home yesterday with these gorgeous yellow flowers!   I think they look perfect on our table.
I can't wait to share the rest of our home with you!
Have a great Sunday night!
xoxo, Allie.

1.)  My pretty new shoes!  2.)  A little hummingbird ring that belonged to my mother when she was a teen. <3

I've been busybusy all day, taking a trip to the gym then cleaning the rest of the day.  It's been a lovely one, though...HIM playing throughout the apartment, and my little cat asleep in my chair.  :)

To be glad of life because it gives you to chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at the stars.

Also, super-congrats to James of Bleubird Vintage, who's little baby bird arrived yesterday!  Yay!
Have a wonderful night!
xoxo, Allie.

(Hello, ghost legs!)

Today was a wonderful day!  Sean and I woke up early and hit up the gym for the second day in a row.  I'll admit, I'm not the most motivated when it comes to working out.  But, for the past two days, I've really been pushing myself to do better.  And I already feel so much better.  Just two small workouts in, and I'm feeling better than I have in a while.  Amazing!
While my craft room is being completed (and I can't wait to share pictures!), I've moved my sewing machine onto the dining room table to work on projects for my upcoming giveaway.  My blog has reached well over 100 followers since my absence, and I've received so much support from all you lovelies, I think a giveaway is now necessary!  I can't wait!

Well, I'm off for the night!
Have a lovely one, dearies.
xoxo, Allie.

The scratch on my face is healing quite nicely.  Dr.  Frankenstein said he's sorry, and all is well. C:  He's the cutest little thing, isn't he?

I'll be back later today with my new feature!  Hope you're having a lovely Wednesday!
xoxo, Allie.

Guess Who's Back?

Meee!

Finally...finally!...we have internet!   So, I'll be back to all of my regular posts...'7 Things Sunday', my daily photo, and 'Colour My World Saturdays'...plus a couple of new ones! ^_^

Speaking of my daily photo, here is today's!  Sean and I made these little felt mascots out of Aranzi Aronzo's The Cute Book.  (If you've never made anything out of an Aranzi Aronzo book, I definitely recommend it!  They're super easy, and cute, too!)  I made the brown bunny and the bear, and Sean made the white bunny.  I was surprised when Sean asked to sit down and make one with me.  He did great though, for his first time hand-stitching!  Also, there may or may not be an Aranzi Aronzo giveaway sometime in the future...  So if you're a fan, keep your eyes peeled, just in case. C:

Today has been a busy, busy day!  And unfortunately, today's post will be a short one!  I'm going to have to post my featured artist on a later day.  I need to sleep!
Anyways, here's today's photo:
Remember that vintage suitcase I found?  There 'tis, all cleaned up and full of my clothes.  C:  I'm headed down to Texas tomorrow to start setting up the apartment! I'm thrilled, and I can't wait to show Sean what I've done with the place.

Sorry for another super-short, boring post!  I've been running around like crazy all day, trying to get things done.  There just aren't enough hours in the day sometimes.
But I'll post again as soon as I can!

Have a splendid Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday!

Today's photo is of my little kitten, Norman.  I named him after Norman Bates, because he isn't exactly the nicest kitty in the world. (Don't let this cute photo fool you! C:)  But don't get me wrong, I love my precious kitty! ^_^

Well, we're halfway through this wonderful week.  I'm excited, because on Friday, Sean and I are taking a weekend getaway to San Antonio.  It will be so nice to escape with him for a while. C:
Anyways, I'll be back later with a lovely lamp redo and possibly 4 more journal pages!

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

Today I have two photos to share.  Well, 3 actually, since I didn't post yesterday's.
But today's photos are of my soon-to-be cover for my 30-day journal.  I'm really excited about this cover.  My mom is teaching me plastic canvas, and I love it!
Can you tell what this is going to be? (Probably so, haha.)

And here's yesterday's photo...  I spent the day with Sean, so I didn't get around to posting it last night. (I'm so excited, because this week is the last week we'll have to spend apart. C: )
It's a cherry pie magnet I made out of plastic canvas.  I'm so proud of my little magnet. :)  It's the first piece of plastic canvas I've ever completed.  I'm now thinking of making a blueberry, lemon, and cherry pie magnet set, since they're so cute and easy to make. ^_^

But now I'm off to work on my journal, my journal cover, and talk to Sean.  Hopefully I'll have more journal pages to show you all soon.  C:
Have a lovely night!

This pretty jewelry box used to not be so pretty.  It was brown and scratched, and the inside was covered in this odd orange fabric.  I covered the ring cushions, gave it a few coats of bright yellow paint, and now it's the cheeriest jewelry box I've ever laid my eyes on. C:

I'll be posting a few pages from my journal project soon. (Eep!  I'm nervous!) C:
Hope everyone is having a lover-ly Saturday night!
xoxo, Allie.

A Photo-A-Day...Day 1

I think I want to start a photo-a-day project.  I need a consistent project to work on, and I think this is one I will have time for, no matter where my life takes me over these next few months.  Plus, posting them to my blog daily will help me stay motivated. C:

So, here is my very first photo:
This was taken on my way to Stillwater for some delicious ice cream from Braums. C:

(And a couple from a few days ago:)
I think a great way to document my life at this time would be to keep these photos in a journal, as well. C:
Have you ever started a photo-a-day project?  How far did you get?

Well, I'm off to make pasta and miss Sean.  Have a lovely night!
xoxo, Allie.
